Katsa has been able to kill a man with her bare hands since she was eight – she’s a Graceling, one of the rare people in her land born with an extreme skill. As niece of the king, she should be able to live a life of privilege, but Graced as she is with killing, she is forced to work as the king’s thug.
When she first meets Prince Po, Graced with combat skills, Katsa has no hint of how her life is about to change.
She never expects to become Po’s friend.
She never expects to learn a new truth about her own Grace – or about a terrible secret that lies hidden far away.. (Synopsis from Goodreads).
If you like fantasy, romance, and YA this book is for you. I love it 🙂
If you have read it, what did you think of it?
I read Graceling for the first time last year and it was my book of the year…SO GOOD! I didn’t know they were making a film. Not sure I’d want to see it though!
They haven’t even cast it yet as far as I’m aware, I know it’s a tricky one, I think I would go see it, I just hope it doesn’t turn into an action film. Have you read the other books in the series?
Yeah I loved them all! I’m terrible with films of books I love – I nearly always end up hating them!
That’s not so good, I think I’ll watch the trailer and see what it looks like, it’s meant to be out this year, but not sure when. I still have not read Bitterblue, was not too keen on Fire, but I am hoping Bitterblue will be better 🙂
Fire was definitely my least favourite. I loved Bitterblue as it brought it all together, and I was so happy about the return Katsa & Po.
That’s good to hear, might bump it up my list 🙂
Graceling was amazing, although I liked Bitterblue much better. I’m excited for the movie and hope they do a good job with it. 🙂
I’ve not yet read bitterblue. I was not too keen on Fire. Ye I am really lookng forward to the film 🙂
I haven’t read Fire yet, but I’m looking forward to it. Bitterblue is wonderful, and I enjoyed the fact that her talents are more diplomacy-related than being awesome at fighting like Katsa. It’s neat to see how Cashore can write such different characters and yet make them both equally as awesome. 🙂
That’s good I am looking forward to reading it. Might bump it up the list 🙂
