20 books of summer is run by Cathy at 746 books, I took part last year and do think I did very well, but this year I am going to try and combine books for other challenges and books that I have started but not yet finished. I was thinking about doing ARC’s but I am doing a lucky dip sort of thing, so I will try and read one lucky dip book and one 20 books of summer book, unless that gets too much.
I have to thank Books are my favourite and best, for reminding me out this. I will be reading the books in no particular order, and click on the picture to get a link to the goodreads page.
Have you read any of these books, what did you think of them? What books will you be reading this summer?
Emma
Thanks for the mention π
I haven’t read any of the books on your list but have heard great things about Bitter Greens. Enjoy the challenge π
Thanks π I hope it’s as good as it looks π
A good list! Some are fresh and I have never seen but look interesting! I have read City if Bones (pretty good series..just long!) Enchanted Glass looks good. I have yet to read Vampire Academy (Twilight ruined vampires for me..) Born Wicked looks good and I NEED to read Splintered…sigh.
I have started Vampire academy before and could not finish it, I am hoping this time I will be able to. I love twilight but I too have grown a little weary of vampires. I have started Splintered twice and not managed to finish it yet, not sure why cos it is really good, here’s hoping third time lucky π
Oh and Neil Gaiman is pretty swell. I read The Ocean at the End of the Lane and it was…different. But good different! I have seen the movie Stardust and LOVED it..so the book has to be better π
I haven’t read anything by Neil Gaiman, I have tried but his style isn’t really for me. I do love the film of Stardust so I am hoping I will love the book. π
It was really weird but still a good read. I watched the movie when my fiancΓ© wasn’t home so he wouldn’t complain π
I do that too, not wayched stardust in a while, will need to watch it again after I read the book π
Interesting list. Its been some years since I read City of Bones and Stardust but I only read The Reflections of Queen Snow White earlier this year. I thought it was an interesting re-imagining of the classic fairy tale. I hope you enjoy your reads π
Thanks, I am looking forward to them π
Beautiful post! All those glorious covers. I haven’t read Splintered, but it’s one of my all-time favorite covers. I haven’t read anything by Gaiman, but see the books on so many lists. I should give one of them a try.
thanks for stopping by. This will b my first Gaiman book. so I am hoping it’s good. Splintered has a gorgeous cover, I’ve heard the book is just as good. I am looking forward to it. π
I hope so too. I’ll be interested to hear how you like them.
Lots of fantasy there – a genre I know very little about but would like to know more. I look forward to your reviews, and seeing if you can tempt me out of my comfort zone… π
Thanks, ye I read mostly fantasy but I read other stuff when the mood takes me π
Some amazing covers for your choices, I will be looking forward to your reviews as the challenge progresses. My first ten books are up today https://cleopatralovesbooks.wordpress.com/2015/05/30/20-books-of-summer-2015/
Thanks, I am a sucker for pretty covers π I am heading over to your page just now to have a look π
I’ll be interested to see how you like Bitter Greens – I’ve been considering that one for awhile.
I ahve had it my kindle for about 3 years, it’s about time I read it.
I haven’t read any of those, but I’ve heard great things about some of them. I’ve been interested in reading Bitter Greens so I hope you enjoy it!
I do too, They all seem like great books, looking forward to them π Thanks for stopping by π
Great list! I want to read Tiger Lily also! Maybe we could read it together?
Ye sounds good? Do you have 20 books of summer list? Is it on yours? When would you like to read it?
I hope you like Crossed and Tiger Lily better than I did… I wasn’t a huge fan of either. I’ve been interested in checking out Melanie Dickerson’s fairy tale retellings, though! Have you read any of the other ones?
No I haven’t read any of them. I am looking forward to them though. π Ye I started Crossed before and couldn’t get into it, hoping for better this time. Thanks for stopping by.
Stardust is one of my favorites and I’ve wanted βBitter Greensβ for so long but don’t have the time to read it so I keep putting off buying it. And can I just say, these book covers are absolutely stunning! π
I know, I love pretty covered books π I know I am a lttle worried about the length of bittergreens butit does look really good. I am looking forward to Stardust, I love the film, hoping the book is as good. π
I really liked Tiger Lily, although it was quite different to what I expected. The writing in it is wonderful. And Bitter Greens has been on my TBR forever, partly because of its amazing cover! I really want to read Stardust too, just because I’m in love with the film.
That’s why I want to read stardust too π Looks so good, I have tried his books before am didn’t really like his writing style hopefully I will fare better this time π
I love the VA series and want to try and reread all the books this summer! I want to read Falling Kingdoms sadly i do not own it. I do plan to read Tiger Lily I think Peter Pan or Peter Pan retellings are perfect for summer =)
I am currently reading VA but really struggling with it. I hope you enjoy the other books. Are you doing this challenge?
Your post makes me think I want to after all I do have a bunch of audio books saved on Scribd =]
Well if you do put a link to your post here and I will check it out. If you use books you will read anyway it’s just a little bit of motivation and getting to know other bloggers π
I always love getting to know more bloggers also why I utilize twitter it’s been a very helpful too! Goals always push me to read even when I feel slumpy =]
Ye me too, I haven’t found twitter that useful but met some lovely like minded bloggers π
I do readathons and made book best friends through twitter who have helped me through a lot. Just takes a bit of practice but books unite the world!! =D
