hp bw 1

I love that it includes more than you think when you look properly. As McGonagal is one of my favourite characters I am glad she is featured.

hp bw 2

Dobby looks so scared, and Malfoy looks evil. I love it.

hp bw 3

I do like how it doesn’t really show Harry, it shows Hermione and Sirius and the demontors which feature heavily in the book.

hp bw 4

Love the fact that it shows the other Twiwizard champions but Krum looks a little bit like a vampire.

hp bw 5

I love the presentation of Umbridge, she look evil. I don’t really like that Harry’s face takes up half the cover, kind of leaves room for nothing else.

hp bw 6

I do think that Dumbledore takes up too much of the cover, but the detail is amazing. Having Snape in the cover is a great choice in my opinion.

hp bw 7

There’s a lot going on, but in a great way. I like how Dumbledore is looking down, or is that Aberforth? The duel is coll but both Harry and Voldemort look very strange.

What do you think of these covers? Would you buy them?

So it’s been a few years since I have posted any of these covers, there are only so many, but I found this today and thought they were far too pretty not to share.

hp1 na

These have a lot going on, but each small picture has something significant to the book. I love it.

hp2 na

I love the spiders crawling all over the book and the inclusion of the howler. I think a child who has not read the books, will look at these in depth and try to work out what they are about to discover when they read the books.

hp 3 na

I am liking the footprints all over the cover. The quotes from each book are really making me want to read them all again. I really like how if you know the bokos there are little hints about the plot but if you don’t know them, it gives nothing away.

hp4 na

I love that a letter from Sirius is included in the cover. A very long dragon at the top is pretty cool.

hp5 na

I like how the book is very Umbridge based, with a little of the other characters like the weasley twins and the extendable ears. This is probably my favourite of this set of covers.

hp6 na

Once again there is a lot going one, it’s over riding theme is the cave where the horcrux is held, but I love that she has included some of the lighter elements of the book too.

hp 7 na

The theme of hallows vs horcruxes is strong, which I love. It makes me very happy that the deluminator and tales of beedle of the bard are included.

What do you think of these covers? Would you buy this set if they were available?

ARC Review: Trial of magic

trials of magic

I really like this book, it does have aspects of most of YA fantasy (to be fair I keep reading them because I love this) but it does have a few unique qualities. The different halls were different than anything else I have ever read, a nice unique twist on magic. I was not much of a fan of Pi, I preferred the other sister. Pi just seemed like a very reckless person and she got out of most of her scrapes because of her sister, Aurie. Aurie was my preferred main charater, she used her wits to get out the unlucky scrapes she got herself into. I didnt really feel connected to any of the side characters but I am looking forward to reading more in the next book.
