might on monday

The idea behind Might on Monday is to say a book you have been thinking about for a while but have not gotten around to reading, but might on Monday.

This week I chose Magician

My boyfriend has been trying to get me to read it for about a year, but the word aliens scares me. He also does not really read the same books as me. So has anyone read it? Is it any good?

What would you read on Monday?

might on monday

So late yet again. Better late than never I suppose.

Might on Monday is where you post a book you have seen that you are unsure about, and hopefully people will respond and tell you whether or not it’s worth the read.

This weeks book for me is.

les mis

A classic book, I have seen the remake of the film and loved it. But I have heard this is really hard going, also it’s almost 1500 pages long. That’s some book. Is it worth the read?

might on monday

A day late yet again. Sorry, will catch up soon.

Might on Monday, is a post where I say a book that I have been thinking about reading but am unsure about. I hope people will reply if whether or not they have read the book, and let me know what they think of it.

This weeks book is The Keep by Jennifer Egan.

the keep

Award-winning author Jennifer Egan brilliantly conjures a world from which escape is impossible and where the keep-–the tower, the last stand-–is both everything worth protecting and the very thing that must be surrendered in order to survive.

Two cousins, irreversibly damaged by a childhood prank, reunite twenty years later to renovate a medieval castle in Eastern Europe. In an environment of extreme paranoia, cut off from the outside world, the men reenact the signal event of their youth, with even more catastrophic results. And as the full horror of their predicament unfolds, a prisoner, in jail for an unnamed crime, recounts an unforgettable story that seamlessly brings the crimes of the past and present into piercing relation.

I started this a while and couldn’t get into it properly. It really looks amazing. it looks like a book full of dark secrets, intrigue and suspense. Has anyone read it? Is it worth the read?

Which books might you read on Monday?

might on monday

Might on Monday is to say a book you are unsure whether or not you want to read and hopefully get some responses saying what other people thought of the book. It can be a book you’ve been wanting to read for years or one you just found.

Ember

What if you knew when someone was going to die? For seventeen-year-old Ember, life is death. With a simple touch, she knows when someone will die. It’s her curse and the reason she secludes herself from the world. The only person who knows her secret is her best friend Raven. Then she meets Asher Morgan. He’s gorgeous, mysterious, and is the only person Ember can’t sense death from. So when he pushes into her life, she doesn’t mind. But when unexplained deaths start to haunt her town, Ember starts questioning why she can’t sense Asher’s death and what he may be hiding. (Synopsis from Good reads).

This book looks great, the reason I am a bit unsure is I loved another series by this author and a little worried I will set my standards too high or it will be very similar. It does look great so soon I will read it more than likely.

Have you read this book? What do you think? Which books are you unsure of? Let me know.

might on monday

The idea of Might on Monday is to post a book you are unsure whether or not it is for you. Hopefully people will reply and say whether or not they have read the book and tell you what they thought it.

My book this week is Cloud Atlas.

cloud atlas

A postmodern visionary who is also a master of styles and genres, David Mitchell combines flat-out adventures, a Nabokovian love of puzzles, a keen eye for character, and a taste for mind-bending philosophical and scientific speculation in the tradition of Umberto Eco and Philip K. Dick. The result is brilliantly original fiction that reveals how disparate people connect, how their fates intertwine, and how their souls drift across time like clouds across the sky.

I have this book and I started it a few years ago, only managed to get a couple of pages in. I have heard it can be hard to get into. Have you read it? What did you think?

What book might you read on Monday?

Happy reading, bookworms.

I have decided to do a new post on Mondays called Might on Monday. Have you ever said you might do something or will do it on Monday? This is where the idea stems from.

The general idea is that every Monday I will post a book I like the look of but not sure if it’s for me. I am hoping people will reply telling me if they have read it or not, and what they thought of it. Please let me know which books you might read some Monday. Also feel free to join if you like the sound of this.

I am going to start with a collection of books.

sherlock-holmes

Why I fancy it

Well I love mystery and it is a classic, it’s also been called the best detective book series ever, so why not? I think I might of read one when I was about 10 but I cannot remember anything. I love films and T.V series about Sherlock so why not go straight to the source?

Why I am unsure

I am worried that it will not live up to my expectations and ruin Sherlock for me, for good. I am not used to reading classics, and if the writing style is completely different than I am used to, it will annoy me.

What do you think? Should I give it a go? All feedback is welcome.

What book might you read on Monday?

Until next time, happy reading bookworms.
